Jeff reported directly to me in his role as Accounts Payable Manager. As a corporation coming out of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, and one that continued to operate in financial distress, cash and cash management was one of the most critical day-to-day functions. Without Jeff’s extraordinary ability to communicate effectively with our employees, vendors and partners, the company’s operations would have been in extreme jeopardy. Jeff worked under extreme day-to-day pressure and always adapted to the changing business needs. Although reporting directly to me, Jeff was a true partner to the business unit General Managers. By working closely with them and Jeff’s contacts at our vendors, Jeff was able to move beyond the A/P function and into the purchasing area. As a direct result of his individual efforts, Jeff saved the company material amounts of money by negotiating new deals directly with our vendors. Jeff built trust and respect inside our organization, and outside it. He supports operations, and integrates his efforts with the Operating Teams building consensus. He is a masterful negotiator working out payment plans with vendors that I would have thought to be impossible. Lastly Jeff possesses other important qualities which are rare. He is incredibly dedicated and aspires to do the best job possible. His efforts do not end on Friday afternoon at 5PM.
