Software Engineer on SketchUp and LayOut.Developed code in C++/C++ CLI/.Net/Ruby/JavaScript/OpenGL/WebGL.Worked on a web 3D viewer of SketchUp models using WebGL/JavaScript.Ported SketchUp API to 64-bit.Implemented 64-bit ThumbsUp Windows file explorer plugin to allow viewing SketchUp models in Windows file explorer.Enhanced many SketchUp tools.Implemented a new fast feedback mechanism using OpenGL, which was cross-platform and allowed most of the existing SketchUp tools to easily take advantage of faster screen updates.Created a POV-Ray plugin for SketchUp using Ruby and an extension DLL. The plugin has a seamless connection with POV-Ray by adding menu options and a toolbar to SketchUp. There’s also a texture editor for creating native POV-Ray textures, which will then be used instead of the SketchUp assigned texture. The textures and scene parameters are then persisted between renders using XML based files.Developer on the SketchUp APIs- Ruby/SketchUpReader/SketchUpWriter/C-based SLAPI (SketchUp/LayOut API). Maintained and enhanced the ACIS-MFC, Part, and Graphics Interaction/OpenGL (GI/GL) components.Implemented the Visual Manipulation Component (Visman). Visman is a multi-platform (Windows/Unix/Mac) visualization framework. Visman uses OpenGL or GDI drawing for rendering (based on which classes were registered in the class factory) and contains a collection of more than 75 COM-like objects. Visman implements scene management, picking/selection management, draggers/manipulators, and input event handling.Developed a VC++ AppWizard to create an MFC based Visman application.Enhanced and maintained the HOOPS-ACIS Bridge. The bridge is used to visualize ACIS objects using HOOPS.Developed a VC++ AppWizard to create an MFC based HOOPS-ACIS application.Re-architected the ACIS Scheme application, which was originally based off the ACIS GI/GL components, to switch between the GI/GL/Visman/HOOPS-ACIS Bridge components at link time. Generic pure-virtual base classes were designed and implemented by the three different rendering technologies.Developed a basic feature-based ACIS modeler. The modeler has object creation, CSG operations, Undo/Redo, and Warp operations. The modeler has built-in texture editing and uses the Persistence of Vision raytracer for rendering. XML is used for save/restore/cut-n-paste.
