Accomplishments as part of a multi-disciplinary team at Vivint.-- Mechanical design and manufacturing integration of primary panels for the Vivint Smart Home system-- Mechanical design of the new PING IP camera-- Thermal analysis of products using Flow Simulation and empirical methods-- Setup and maintain SolidWorks and PDM software for engineers

Responsible for an engineering team consisting of software, electrical and mechanical engineers. Our group is primarily engaged in the design and development of a man portable chemical identification instrument utilizing GC-MS technology as well as related accessory products.

-- Supervised 2 mechanical engineers and coordinated resources on several major projects.-- Project manager for a major co-development project with a large instrumentation company.-- Designed a complete self contained portable GC-MS for identifying chemical agents and other hazardous chemicals-- Designed a single hand operated sampling syringe-- Redesigned a sealed proportional x-ray counter for Moxtek as part of our company's engineering services.-- Assist graduate students with mechanical engineering solutions for their projects as part of our on-going relationship with BYU.

Designed new pumping station used to manufacture/seal x-ray detectors along with working on the software in Visual Basic that controlled its operation.

-- Designed 2 extendable antenna products (802.11 and Bluetooth) within the PC card form factor. -- Generated multiple patents for IP portfolio of the company. -- Managed domestic and overseas tooling vendors. Identified and implemented design improvements to reduced tooling and material costs by more than 45%. -- Generated complete design and documentation for the aforementioned products.

-- Designed and documented a $150K benchtop mass spectrometer-- Improved the manufacturability and reliability of a gas blending and calibration system.-- Managed the mechanical engineering efforts of 3 employees for the Sensar division.-- Published in the September 1998 edition of "Pipeline and Gas" for an application we were working on to determine oil interfaces within a pipeline.
