Most recently, Jeff developed and packaged with Alicia Keys the limited scripted series Freedom Riders, with Freeform (ABC/Disney). He is now also in development on a scripted fashion series for young adults with CBC, and a competition reality series with CTV. With this the companies focus and slate has shifted from feature films to television. As a filmmaker he directed, wrote, and co-produced the two dramatic feature films. The first An Insignificant Harvey, was executive produced by Oscar Winner Don Carmody (Chicago), it was released theatrically in 2011, and sold into 23 World territories. He received film training from TISCH NYU and completed several short films (his last Dogasaur was showcased in the Guggenheim). He has directed nationally broadcast commercials and completed several television documentaries. An alumnus of the TIFF Studio Producers Program (2016) and TAP Trans Atlantic Producers Program (2016), he released in theatres his second feature film Blood Honey (Bequest) in the fall of 2017.Jeff is also a proud co-founder of POV (www.POVFilm.org), a Toronto based non-for-profit media program that trains young adults from diverse backgrounds in production skills and helps get them paid jobs within the industry, he served as Vice President for 14 years before stepping back in 2020.As president of Kopas Developments Jeff develops commercial and residential real estate properties, with a current focus on the Toronto downtown market.
