CPC was founded in 1965 as a direct response to the end of the Chinese Exclusion Act. Since that time, human service workers at CPC have worked tirelessly to provide childcare services, senior services, legal services, workforce training, youth counseling, as well as provide adult literacy classes. Every year, 60,000 New Yorkers come to CPC sites because they know they can trust the services that CPC provides.The Adult Literacy Program aims to provide the highest quality classes for our community members. Through our program, students will gain practical, everyday, English skills to feel more empowered and to attain a better quality of living in the United States
