While maintaining the application portfolio and budgeting responsibilities, I lead a team of Technical Solutions Analyst as well as Service Desk and Deskside Support individuals in Canada and the United States. The objective of the Digital Operations team was to maintain existing systems while attempting to drive efficiencies through automation and simplification.Additionally, I administered and championed enhancements into our ITSM platform (ServiceNow) with the intent of increasing automation, data metrics, and reducing the time to close issues brought to Digital Services’ attention.During my time in this role, I played a critical part in assisting end-users in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling them to work effectively from home and was a key stakeholder in the organization’s objective of “Work Better from Anywhere”. Utilizing Power Automate and Power BI, I enabled the organization to capture and analyze office activity to help identify potential close contact cases.My team also created and began implementing an updated Content Management Strategy to mature Enerplus Corporation’s management of an exponentially increasing mass of content.Finally, I was responsible for the Governance arm of our Digital Services department, providing evidence for quarterly and annual audits, updating our Policies and Standards, and acting as an approver for our Change Management process.

As the team lead of IS Applications, I lead a group of Technical Solutions Analysts in maintaining and supporting all business facing applications at Enerplus, across Canada and the USA. My application portfolio included over 300 applications supporting all facets of the Enerplus business. This required leading a high performing team to ensure Enerplus' day-to-day operations ran smoothly.In addition, my team managed or was part of any application upgrades and assisted in making strategic decisions to reduce technical debt and driving departmental and organizational efficiencies.Finally, as part of this role I reviewed and managed application and data subscription contracts as well as vendor negotiations. My role was accountable for determining and managing the application and data budget for the company.

I gained valuable experience by being the application steward for various applications that cross several departments. The applications for which I was responsible included WellView, SiteView, Avocet/FieldView, CS Explorer, Aries, AFE Navigator, and Centrix.My responsibility for the aforementioned applications required day-to-day support and maintenance activities. The maintenance activities included software upgrades, documenting and disseminating business process changes, software customizations and integrations. These activities often required interaction with multiple departments before implementation to ensure all stakeholders were aware of any changes and the proper testing was performed before implementation.Additionally, through promotion of the applications for which I was responsible, I increased the usage of several applications and enhanced the data capture process to allow for more complete information and better decision making by the business.I was also the Crystal Reports administrator and designed over 65 reports to meet the needs of business users throughout the company. The reports typically provided users with either data integrity checks or information that cannot be obtained easily due to application limitations or the need to compare data across multiple databases. Many of the reports I authored demanded complex SQL queries or stored procedures.My communication and interpersonal skills enhanced the relationship between the IT/IS department and other departments; a former source of conflict.Finally, I administered several applications in terms of user maintenance and security. The applications included Pason, BCeID and Data Scavenger.

I obtained extensive experience in Business Requirements gathering, as well as defining Business and Software processes for both the present and future states. I led and/or was part of over 10 large software implementation projects involving WellCore that varied in complexity supporting up to 500 end-users. In addition, I developed Design Specification documents based on the Business Requirements. The Design Specification documents typically included creating and updating entity relationship diagrams, prototyping, and technical test cases for database implementations. I used tools such as Visio for work and process flow diagramming as well as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe for the final document formats. I received training in UML and Use Case diagrams.I used Help Desk Expert, Bug Track Expert as well as internal systems for issue tracking and MS Project for task tracking.Finally, my role as Business Analyst often required duties that overlapped those of a Project Manager, including expectation management; timeline adherence, risk analysis and resource allocation.
