This is what I like to call my “past life,” before I discovered I could get paid to write silly, fun, smart things for brands. What’s important is that this job was kind of like boot camp for the real world and whipped me into shape, meaning I learned to show up on time, contribute to my 401(k) and be a responsible corporate citizen and adult. Oh I also learned a lot about business and how to present in front of large groups of people. To be honest, I still use skills I gained at this job much more in the world of advertising than I ever thought I would.
