Technical lead for a greenfields infrastructure program to separate OT technology from MSD. The first to use a new approach to service delivery for NZ Government using principles of Cloud First, Borderless, IT Light, UX centric and continuous evolution. Basically the role was a Jigsaw Master connecting multiple service offerings from multiple service providers (which include other government agencies as well as commercial suppliers). I was responsible for all things technology in the new OT world. An evolving hybrid world where legacy services are transitioned from legacy MSD onto a new, leading edge, Cloud based OT technology environment. I was responsible for proposing, designing, validating and delivering all the new technology and supporting services. Using a highly agile model where change is constant and timeframes are short. A major area is the Co-existence between the legacy environment (MSD) and the new environment (Digital Workplace) as the deployment takes 6-8 months to achieve and the people reside across both the MSD and OT environments.Included a new SharePoint Online based user portal and data management solution. Includes Enterprise Search, Microsoft Teams and new principles for Information Management. Included replacement of legacy EDRMS and unstructured data solutions.Delivered the most secure yet mobile solution in New Zealand. COVID-19 had little effect on peoples work practices using this solution.An intense role with major work practice and cultural impacts for Oranga Tamariki delivered within very challenging time constraints.
