I am responsible for a crew of 16 employee's including 1 Leading Signal Maintainer, 1 Signal Technician, 8 Signal Maintainers,and 6 junior Maintainers. This includes a small specialty maintenance gang. I am responsible for ensuring all GI's and SCP's are followed. I am responsible for training and refreshing knowledge of the employee's under my directions. I am also on call for the Go owned system every third week to communicate with Go transit, CN Rail and CP rail for any signal failures. Ensure the safety of the signal system in these events and to prevent delays to operations. I am also in the rotation to chair a weekly safety call for the entire PNR Go Maintenance department (signals, track, capital) to discuss any hazards, safety flashes, rule updates, company wide incidents, and any concerns from the team in the field. I am also a member of the JHSC.I am responsible for pay roll and ensuring the proper cost coding, and for having daily communication with the track department to properly schedule joint maintenance. In additions to regular maintenance I create work plans for equipment upgrades and oversee the work. -

I was part of the construction of the DSS installing the switch machine and all the rods, adjusting the switch for proper operation. Running cables, testing insulation resistance, wiring switch junction boxes, switch machines, also helped perform contact break down, wiring changes for upgrades, and in the field for commissioning tests calling relay positions and signal aspects.We were also part of new bungalow installation and cable splicing.
