GM North American Technical Lead for Driver Airbag and Steering Wheels

Design release responsibilities for Truck/SUV platforms.Interface with supplier and internal departments to ensure successful launch of product to consumers.

*Lead in design, testing, and program launch activities for Honda customer business unit with emphasis to side and side curtain airbag systems.*Review drawings and ensure they conform to customer specifications.*Train and assist employees with internal policies, procedures, and in overall airbag development.

*Assumed responsibilities for transfer of engineering, program management, and quality information from Takata Japan offices to Takata North American operations (US / Mexico) for airbag, seat belt, and steering wheel applications.*Assist in local development for global platform launches and dissemenation of acquired "Know-How" and Lessons Learned to all applicable facilities.*Conduct Benchmarking surveys to assist global strategy for business acquisition.*Expatriate assignment to cover 2 years.

*Create internal drawings to customer standards for driver, passenger, side, and side-curtain airbag applications.*Test product according to customer specifications.*Conform to all internal policies and procedures regarding development and launch activities.*Support manufacturing/quality groups in delivery of acceptable finished product per established customer timing.

*Market quality analysis of all returned airbag units from Ford, DaimlerChrysler, and GM.*Root cause analysis for all returned components and reviewed Quality scores with all OEMs.*Worked with OEM dealership units to obtain information, and to assist with improvement of LOP coding and disposition of goods.*Trained fellow associates in Ford AWS, DCX Covisint systems to accurately review all returned product.

*MCM project for seat belt systems.*Softpack SAB MCM for PT Cruiser platform.*Led JD Powers study for all small car platform and conducted Executive Review and Ride/Drive assessments.
