I am a communications manager and digital producer with experience in a variety oftopics, including science education, public health and emergency management. I have worked in a variety of writing, editing and content management positions for 20 years and am an experienced supervisor and project manager. In various positions across a wide range of topics for both public and private organizations, I have handled editorial and digital maintenance tasks for websites, social media channels and call centers. In each of these positions, my job has been to simplify complex topics for a broad audience.For the past two years, I have worked for the NASA-funded GLOBE science education program as a website writer/editor. In this role, I have focused on improving the site’s style, voice, accessibility and navigation. I manage several projects, including an accessibility internship program with students from the New York Institute for Special Education.Previously, I worked for six years at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, most recently as the Digital Managing Editor. In that position, I led a team that maintained several digital assets for the agency, including the primary website — nyc.gov/health. I worked as a writer, editor and project manager, liaising with every division of the largest government health agency in the U.S. to ensure information is up to date, accurate and accessible for all New Yorkers. I played a lead role in digital communications for the first two years of the COVID-19 public health emergency, working at all hours to make sure the highest priority information was easily digestible for the people who needed it the most.
