My duties as Library Manager include, but are not limited to:• Supervising, evaluating, and facilitating the training of library staff, volunteers, and student workers• Developing branch’s annual budget of $200,000+ and present it to city and county boards for approval• Managing the library’s annual budget to best meet the needs of the library and its community• Administering library’s public and private grant program, including grants from the Dorothy Louise Kyler Foundation, Library Services and Technology Act, Mississippi Arts Commission, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi, and the Wal-Mart Foundation • Collaborating with library director, administrative and advisory boards, and other staff members to evaluate and update library policies on a routine basis• Building effective working relationships with elected officials and community leaders in order to establish beneficial partnerships between the library and other community organizations• Communicating the need for building maintenance or equipment replacement to the appropriate individuals or boards in order to adequately address the library’s needs• Overseeing the development of the library’s collection to include materials in multiple formats that best meet the needs of the community• Implementing educational and recreational programs for adults, children, and teenagers• Preparing monthly statistical reports detailing circulation, computer usage, fees collected, reference questions, and interlibrary loan transfers• Promoting library services through outreach activities through traditional and creative means, such as speaking at the meetings of local civic organizations, schools, and daycare centers, and developing the library’s digital presence
