As Policy Director of the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands, I conduct research and policy analysis of critical issues within the Trust's primary substantive areas of focus, including US-China relations, global cooperation and strengthening democratic institutions. I identify and build relationships with partner organizations, and design and implement the Trust's evaluations program. I participate in strategic planning in the ongoing development of the Sunnylands retreat program - a central focus of the Trust's mission.

Lead Election Advisory Council efforts to provide guidance to executives at Netvote, a tech startup dedicated to developing an open source voting protocol on multiple blockchain platforms.By using Netvote’s voting protocol and associated dApps, governments, corporations and organizations anywhere will be able to find new and better ways to engage billions of voters. As IRI’s Director of Congressional and Government Relations, I was responsible for overseeing IRI’s outreach strategy to Capitol Hill and other governmental stakeholders. In this capacity, I leveraged the great wealth of knowledge and expertise IRI has developed around the world to educate policymakers on the importance of democracy and governance as a pillar of American diplomacy.

My responsibilities as Resident Country Director for programs in China and Laos included directing, implementing and executing IRI’s programs in China and Laos, monitoring several active United States Government grants, and providing financial oversight of the program budgets and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. I oversaw the China and Laos programs monitoring and evaluation efforts, developed long-term and annual plans for the country programs and identified key players and partners in country.I focus much time and energy on capacity building for Chinese and Lao civil society organizations. I frequently deliver training programs on good governance, proposal writing, monitoring and evaluation, financial management and communications.
