I am an intellectual property attorney with 15+ years of Am Law 100 law firm and Fortune 250 in-house experience, in addition to previous technical experience as an electrical engineer for leading companies in the telecommunications and aerospace industries. In my current position, I am directly responsible for intellectual property legal matters impacting a diverse group of ITW business that collectively represent nearly $2B in annual revenue, ranging from precision products for the medical device industry, to aircraft ground support equipment, to consumer packaged goods, and more. Some of my current responsibilities include the following:- Working with inventors and business leaders to harvest new inventions and secure IP protection consistent with strategic priorities- Supervising outside counsel preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in domestic and foreign patent offices- Managing a large-scale, global portfolio of IP assets, and advising engineering managers and business leaders on foreign filing, maintenance, annuity, and renewal decisions- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IP-focused agreements including confidentiality, joint development, consultant, and licensing agreements- Performing and supervising outside counsel clearance and novelty searches- Providing IP portfolio reviews, education, and counsel to various cross-functional business personnel on a wide range of IP-related topics
