Jeffrey Steinberg, CPA, is a Senior Advisor with Alvarez & Marsal’s Financial IndustryAdvisory Services. He is an accomplished executive offering more than fortyyears of accounting and management experience within financial institutions.His core competencies include risk mitigation, development of policies andprocedures, portfolio management, conducting audits, and preparing andproviding tax advice for banks, non-banks and other businesses. He brings atangible skill set that can be leveraged by start- up organizations, growingand mature companies. Prior to joining A&M, he headed the M&A team at American Business Financial, was afounding member of AG Epstein & Co an accounting practice that was acquiredby Grant Thornton and successfully led the non-profit practice nationally as aSenior Audit Partner. He has also served as the CFO for Northwestern HumanServices, a large NFP with clients with development disabilities, and as theinterim CFO for several firms during restructuring or M&A events.Most recently he has led successful engagements by working for A& M as an independent consultant, working with a top a major money center bank preparing theinstitution for an OCC exam. Prior engagements include assisting financialinstitutions developing financial models, vendor management, policies andprocedure reviews, audits, and compliance reviews.
