Lead Piping Designer
Currently Providing construction support services on a large scale chemical process project, began by recruiting piping engineers and designers. Techniques have been implemented that vary from hand sketches to full modeling capabilities in order to make conceptual changes and additions. The field work includes all disciplines. This has been done to support construction with the fastest turnaround possible. Responsibilities include interfacing with the client teams to meet a demanding schedule and implementing conceptual changes. Providing engineering and design supervision, coordinating work between multiple offices and disciplines, and working with construction to resolve field issues. Overseeing and developing stress analysis walk down packages to ensure the design criteria is being met by construction prior to start up. The software used on site includes Citrix, PDS, SmartPlant®, Pelican, Caesar, and project wise.
Lead Piping Designer
Used Autoplant 3D plant modeling software to generate piping isometrics & orthographic plans. Provided drawing package estimates and coordination between engineering disciplines. Made site visits to obtain as built dimensions before retrofitting existing chemical process & pharmaceutical facilities. Provided pipe stress analysis models using Autopipe. Stress models were then checked against operating parameters and all applicable codes for compliance. The stress models were used to define the materials of construction, anchor points, and all pipe support locations. Provided engineering support of construction to meet client expectations and guidelines set forth in the drawing documents.

Supervised multiple construction crews. Provided start up / shut down supervision for heavy industrial equipment and piping systems. Implemented safety procedures and coordinated with the plant departments involved. Developed drawing packages. Coordinated work between disciplines. Obtained bids from Mechanical Contractors. Worked under the direction of a Consumers Energy Manager, PHD. Used techniques to improve production capabilities, increase mechanical equipment life span, and at the same time lower energy costs. Developed plant wide piping plans showing all solvent recovery lines for fugitive emissions monitoring to achieve compliance with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
