I've been in learning and development since 2008, starting in K-12 education, moving to higher education, and eventually corporate training; embracing each new challenge to build a robust and versatile skill set. My journey began as a high school teacher, where I designed and implemented a WordPress multi-user website for AP Human Geography students to document their research on world religions. This innovative project enhanced student engagement and provided valuable insights into global religious geography through real-time traffic analysis.My work with Johns Hopkins further honed my expertise in creating impactful instructional tools. Recognizing the need for a reading app that allowed students to meta-tag specific phrases and provide rationales for their choices—as a powerful and engaging tool for demonstrating reading comprehension proficiency—I was inspired to seek solutions that blended technology and education. This led me to Subtext, where I helped source amazing content and build engaging, Common Core-aligned questions to assist teachers and students in building reading skills. By integrating meta-tagging features, we created a transformative platform that changed how students interacted with texts and showcased their understanding.I've always been passionate about the convergence of learning and technology, and since 2023 have been building my expertise in AI. I founded the AI Club and designed and led internal training workshops on building AI proficiency. I want to be on the front lines of AI implementation in the workplace, from how it will impact the L&D space to how it will usher in and facilitate wide-sweeping AI-driven change management mandates that organizations will be experiencing in the coming years.
