My research at General Motors Research and Development focuses on emerging materials, chemistries, and nano/micro-structures for next generation lithium-ion battery technologies. Activities include: Exploratory synthesis and characterization of advanced electrode materials, electrode and cell fabrication, electrochemical measurement.

Prof. Alex Zettl's Group Materials Science Division My research at LBNL focused on utilizing the facilities at the Molecular Foundry and The National Center for Electron Microscopy to make and characterize novel low-dimensional and quantum materials.

Prof. Alex Zettl's Group Physics Department My research was centered around the synthesis, characterization, and hierarchical assembly of nanoscale, low-dimensional, and quantum materials with a focus on van der Waals heterostructures and liquid-liquid interfacial assemblies

Prof. Vinayak Dravid's Group Department of Materials Science and Engineering I worked to explore potential exotic phenomena in two-dimensional chalcogenide layered structures. Specifically, I studied the CVD synthesis of two-dimensional materials, their alloys and heterostructures, as well as growth mechanisms. This was done through a full suite of characterization techniques including electron microscopy, scanning probe microscopy and photo-spectroscopy (photoluminescence, Raman scattering) among others. I also engaged in a wide variety of studies looking at the electronic and photonic properties of 2D materials; this was a multi/interdisciplinary effort done in collaboration with groups throughout NU Physics, EECS, Chemistry and Applied Physics.

Prof. Donald Morelli's Group Department of Materials Science and Engineering I assisted in the development, synthesis, and characterization of compounds for thermoelectric power generation and cryogenic Peltier cooling. This work was part of the United States Department of Energy -Energy Frontier Research Center.
