I joined MedStar Institute for Innovation (MI2) in early 2010 as the first full-time employee and first Project and Operations Manager. Currently, as member of the MI2 Leadership Team, I help ensure the execution of our strategic vision and operational priorities in conjunction with MedStar Health leadership. In addition, I lead MI2’s engagement with established and early-stage emerging technology companies to solve priority problems.The size and diversity of the MedStar Health system make it a microcosm of the healthcare industry and the ideal setting for the MI2, which serves as a catalyst for innovation across the entire MedStar organization, as well as a portal to and for the world outside its walls. MI2 reports directly to MedStar Health’s President/CEO, enhancing its agility and ability to leapfrog bureaucracy.MedStar Health is a $7.3 billion not-for-profit health system with a network of ten hospitals and 20 other health-related businesses across Maryland and the Washington, DC region. As the area's largest health system, it is one of the region's largest employers with 31,000 associates, 8,000 nurses, and more than 6,000 affiliated physicians.
