I love seeing people winning, see learning in everything, and try to help people do both every day.WARNING: This might not be the About section for you. I'm not selling anything. It's about me.I was born in 1970 in upstate New York (Watertown). Doctors said I wouldn’t liive 24 hours.Thank goodness they got that wrong. 🙏My earliest memories are my grandparents’ farm. My grandfather was a judge. Cops would come by for warrants. Grandma and I would watch Soccer Made in Germany. I would pretend I was Franz Beckenbauer. I loved soccer's unbridled freedom. In 4th grade, I started playing trumpet - my introduction to purposeful practice. Hours daily.1981: I had bad asthma, so we moved to Gainesville, Florida. I was in 6th grade. Trumpet continued. I added percussion. There were 10 boys on my street. Lots of (American) football.I started:● Playing soccer. I had a strong desire to be good & practiced every day.● Karate (Wado Ryu (Japanese)).● High school in 1984 at 13, dropping trumpet & drums. My grades made me no threat to the valedictorian. I:● Had a talent for languages (Spanish, French, & Russian).● Wasn’t keen on math, except geometry.● Didn't like homework.● Have never understood why tests aren’t the sole grade determinant. At 15, I started coaching soccer. I really liked teaching.I picked up guitar, and was even in a "band".1988: Graduated high school (at 17) and earned my black belt. 👊Soccer continued (including a stint in Europe).1993: Enrolled in the University of Florida. (Go Gators!)1995: Met my wife at a soccer game our younger brothers were playing. She was home on winter break. She's many things I’m not, including good at math.1996: Graduated UF (BA, history). Law school was a financial decision. I liked how the lawyers I knew were living. ("It's All About the Benjamins" was the theme song for my law school application process.)My wife wanted to take a job in Atlanta, so we moved in December '96. During an ice storm. I didn’t own a coat. I worked, took the LSAT, got married (in Vegas), and started law school (in '98).Law school was for me. One test per class. No homework. Learn stuff then prove you know it. I graduated #8 in my class. One grade kept me from being #1 or #2. I have beef. There’s a backstory.2002: Graduated law school, passed the Bar, and spent 20+ years in large and medium firms. ⚖2021: Formed Bazinet Law (my own firm).I coach soccer. I have other projects going. I don't play guitar or do karate much any more. I do miss them.I’ve never been better.
