Senior Engineering ManagerBoeing Mar 2017 - Oct 2019Long Beach, CaResponsible for developing Regulatory organization for Boeing’s new business unit (Boeing Global Services). Boeing created an entirely new business unit to focus on aftermarket products and services in 2017 and I was given the opportunity to drive the creation of the Regulatory Administration and Aviation Safety organization. Collaborate across business units (Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense, Space & Security) to ensure aftermarket products and services meet product safety, regulatory and/or mission critical requirements.Responsible for ensuring regulatory processes are upheld for post-production airplane modifications and supply the certification engineers to complete the projects. Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce certification project cycle time, while maintaining quality and adherence to regulatory requirements. These process improvements require coordination and negotiation with regulatory agencies, such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Drive execution of aftermarket product certification projects. These projects are major changes to aircraft type design which require a certification plan, and is ultimately approved by the FAA. By providing certification engineering resources and teaming with Product Engineering my team provides an FAA certified solution to the customer, on time and within budget.Responsible for Functional Leadership of nearly 400 Mechanical & Structural Engineering employees in Boeing Global Services. In this role, I provide guidance, approval and oversight for the hiring, career development and reduction in force activities for this engineering population. Successfully completed Boeing’s Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) which is designed to prepare mid-level managers for Engineering Executive Leadership.
