Jeff is the Director for BCA Long Beach Engineering, and has Functional Leadership responsibility for BCA work at the Long Beach, CA site. In this role, Jeff oversees all aspects of Engineering including ensuring technical excellence, managing partnerships with our design center colleagues in the Puget Sound, Charleston, Brazil, Ukraine, and India, enhancing career development, and collaborating with enterprise partners around Boeing.

As Director of Maintenance Engineering, Jeff and his team were responsible for producing maintenance manuals / procedures for Boeing's commercial airplane customers to ensure safe, airworthy and efficient operations. This includes a large suite of maintenance manuals, including; Airplane Maintenance Manual (AMM), Fault Isolation Manual (FIM), Maintenance Program Data (MPD), Structural Repair Manual (SRM), etc. In addition to maintenance manuals, responsible for ground support equipment design for customers and our Boeing factories, managing data configurations for customers and consulting with customers on developing and executing their maintenance programs.Develop and release airplane fleet Service Bulletins (SB), to solve in-service safety issues and economic upgrades for customers. This activity requires close coordination with our local regulatory authority, the FAA. Lead team to collect engineering data and translate it to develop procedures for all in-service commercial Boeing and McDonnell Douglas models and new airplane derivatives (777-9, 737-10, etc.).Drive team performance for safety, quality, and timeliness through data and metrics reviews weekly. Main goal is to provide our customers a safe and quality product when they need it.Executive leader for Enjoyable Work Environment team chartered to create a fun work environment at the Boeing Seal Beach campus. Focus and finish on projects/activities to enhance employee satisfaction and morale.

Responsible for developing Regulatory organization for Boeing’s new business unit (Boeing Global Services). Boeing created an entirely new business unit to focus on aftermarket products and services in 2017 and I was given the opportunity to drive the creation of the Regulatory Administration and Aviation Safety organization. Collaborate across business units (Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense, Space & Security) to ensure aftermarket products and services meet product safety, regulatory and/or mission critical requirements.Responsible for ensuring regulatory processes are upheld for post-production airplane modifications and supply the certification engineers to complete the projects. Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce certification project cycle time, while maintaining quality and adherence to regulatory requirements. These process improvements require coordination and negotiation with regulatory agencies, such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Drive execution of aftermarket product certification projects. These projects are major changes to aircraft type design which require a certification plan, and is ultimately approved by the FAA. By providing certification engineering resources and teaming with Product Engineering my team provides an FAA certified solution to the customer, on time and within budget.Responsible for Functional Leadership of nearly 400 Mechanical & Structural Engineering employees in Boeing Global Services. In this role, I provide guidance, approval and oversight for the hiring, career development and reduction in force activities for this engineering population. Successfully completed Boeing’s Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) which is designed to prepare mid-level managers for Engineering Executive Leadership. Entering this program requires nomination by the Vice President of Engineering.

Structures Safety and Airworthiness (January 2016 - March 2017)Responsible for ensuring the continuity of Safety and Continuing Airworthiness processes between Structures Core in the Puget Sound and the Southern California Engineering Design Center. As part of my responsibilities I forecasted capacity needs, managed development plans and complete the application process for Structures Authorized Representatives (AR), who are FAA representatives employed by Boeing. On behalf of Boeing I facilitated the resolution of certification and regulatory issues and advocated new means of compliance with the FAA.

Airframe Service Engineering (Sept 2013 - January 2016)Manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers to perform safety determinations of in-service 7 series Boeing airplanes. Develop manpower requirements, grow technical expertise and oversee engineering activities to ensure the safety of the fleet.

Structural Analysis Lead Engineer – 767-2C Section 48 (April 2012 - Sept 2013)Developed resources, maintained schedule, provided technical support and performed project management activities to uphold aggressive design schedule for 767-2C airplane. Presented engineering guidelines to team members and facilitated workflow to meet airplane delivery schedule. Structural Analysis Lead Engineer – 747-8 Production Support (June 2011 - April 2012)Provided analysis guidance, resource planning and project management to support 747-8 production issues. Coordinated with multiple engineering functions to ensure engineering meets compliance and structural requirements. Completed 100% on-time drawing release, within budgetary constraints.Sub-Lead Engineer – 747-8 Cargo Handling System and Cargo Floor Structural Analysis (May 2009 - June 2011)Developed structural analysis for cargo floor structure and provided mentoring and guidance to junior engineers.
