Whether it's imagining a young man's coming of age in a far-flung barbaric world, envisioning life in a post-apocalyptic future, or pondering the trials and tribulations of growing up as a kid in today's society, I have been putting my thoughts to word form for nearly 50 years. You'd think by now I'd know all there is to know about the creative process, but that is nowhere near the case.
