Profile bio

About Jeff Stitt

I am employed with the television and digital divisions of a top U.S. media/multimedia company with a reach in several television markets across the country. My passion is for people and storytelling via the written word and photographs. However, as the journalism/communications industry has evolved to a more digital landscape, I've made it a point to do my best to evolve with it by focusing on social media content and curation, data and analytics, SEO, and more. I think it's important, in the modern world, to still provide news, information, facts and quality stories that the content consumer can trust -- and enjoy -- while also keeping in mind things like "clicks," "views," and user engagement. It's a delicate balance but it's our duty as news and content producers to responsibly, yet effectively, reach our markets.I am often responsible for:-Syndicating stories and packages from television news stations in 25+ U.S. media markets and tailoring them for a national audience before publishing/sharing them across the company's digital platforms.-Curating stories produced via various wire services, matching them with appropriate video/photo and interactive assets, making sure they are SEO friendly, and publishing the stories.-Writing original articles to accompany a photo or video asset.-Breaking news-Copyediting articles from 25+ TV markets-Crafting language for push alert notifications.-Posting published content to social media and crafting social post language to accompany it.-Launching and monitoring livestream feeds.-Vertical video editing and publishing on social platforms.-Editing a script and turning it into an article format, which is then read by users on the website, iPhone and Android apps and via social media.-Syndicating stories from company-owned magazines, newspapers and websites. My previous work includes:-Several years as a staff writer/reporter for a newspaper in the Mon Valley region of Pittsburgh.-Apprenticeship with The Innocence Institute, a program that was affiliated with the Innocence Project network. I have a solid grasp of using wire services (AP, Getty, CNN Newsource). I am practiced at using programs like MediaOS, InCopy, the Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and many of Adobe's products, and have used a variety of other programs and systems from Social News Desk and ChatGPT to Slack, Canva WordPress, Dataminr, Parsley and more.

Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Customer Service, Management, Microsoft Excel, and 18 others.
