Eger is serving as the General Manager of the Boone Florence Water Commission, an organization which contracts with Greater Cincinnati Water Works to provide safe, clean drinking water to the residents and businesses of Florence and Boone County. The Commission will invest nearly $50 million dollars over the next ten years to ensure a reliable and secure delivery of drinking water to their customers.Eger also is a part time advisor to the Core Consulting Group, serving as a Senior Consultant. He served in various capacities for 28 years as a utility director, association director, a consultant with a great company (HDR), and currently as a county water board commissioner. With the Core Consulting Group, Eger will be providing executive coaching, leadership training, and strategic planning. Eger is a nationally recognized leader in utility management who has been on the forefront of water management issues throughout his career. In recognition of his accomplishments, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies selected Eger to receive the 2014 National Environmental Achievement Award.Eger has served as the State Director for the Center for Infrastructure and Economic Development, a non-profit supporting local communities engaged in furthering the development of renewable energy.In 2012, he joined HDR Engineering, and launched their national Stormwater practice group. Before joining HDR, Eger served as executive director of the Water Environment Federation where he ushered in the national Stormwater Committee, began a stormwater publication and held the first WEF conferences focused on stormwater issues. Prior to WEF, Eger served 17 years as the executive director for Sanitation District No. 1 in Fort Wright, Ky., the second-largest public sewer utility in Kentucky. While there, he built a stormwater utility from the ground up that served 30 local governments. He also led development of an integrated watershed management plan that was one of the first in the nation to receive state and EPA approval.Previously, Eger was COO of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the largest business organization in the Commonwealth. A graduate of Northern Kentucky University, he and his wife Ruth have had a long history of volunteer service to their Northern Kentucky community.
