General Manager, Membership, Products & Commercial Delivery

Current

Canberra

Appointed to lead a period of change and transformation, I brought structure, commercial capability and governance to the Membership, Product Management & Commercial Delivery functions, elevating performance and positioning the organisation for growth. Serving as a trusted executive partner to the CEO, I went on to set a new strategic direction for the Society. I secured Board approval and buy-in from stakeholders across the organisation, and leading across execution, delivered service/product improvements and operating efficiencies. Notable achievements include implementing a customer-led membership model and a digital transformation program that reduced costs and returned value-add time.Today, I am proud to lead collaborative and highly capable teams across states in advancing opportunities for pharmacists to realise their full potential and support the health care needs of all Australians. Keeping an eye on the future, we are working proactively to build both our services and partnership opportunities, and to date, have increased revenue opportunities whilst delivering improved value to our members.

Apr 2022 - Present

Management Consulting - Enterprise Transformation

Joining the Enterprise Transformation practice, I led engagements for large government, defence and oil & gas clients - from first proposal through to strategy and execution. Notable projects included a governance review for Defence that informed a business case to implement an intelligence and data analytics capability, and the development and first-stage execution of the Australian Defence Force’s Health Strategy 2030 – a first of its kind initiative reforming health policy, services and technologies for service personnel. I also led business development activities that secured significant government contracts and capitalised on other sector opportunities. Leading a team in analysing market data and engaging with stakeholders across practice areas, I co-developed and launched a Project Management Office (PMO) offering that not only diversified revenue streams but provided development opportunities for junior consultants. I also became a sought-after mentor and development manager by consultants across practices.

Sep 2018 - Apr 2022

Director, My Health Record System Operations

Canberra, Australia

Following the creation of the Australian Digital Health Agency in 2016, I transferred out of the Department of Health (role below) to help manage the transition of the My Health Record (MHR) System. A time marked by change and ambiguity, I brought together a newly merged team of contractors, public servants and common law employees in migrating the MHR System to the Agency, ensuring availability and performance levels achieved SLAs and KPIs. I also enabled the transition of live incident management from the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) in-house, leading functional incident managers across clinical safety, privacy, cyber security, compliance and communications in live simulations assessed by the ACSQHC. I established the Health Information Office, a new function to receive and respond to data and information requests from consumers and healthcare providers, and played a key role in transitioning Tier 3 call centre services from the Department of Human Services (now Services Australia) to the Agency. These functions were critical enablers for the national implementation of the MHR System opt-out model. I am proud to have played a leading role in standing up the Agency with improved operational efficiency and customer focus, and preparedness to take the My Health Record System from an opt-in to a national opt-out model.

Aug 2016 - Aug 2018

Assistant Director, My Health Record System Management

A critical period of digital transformation, I was engaged by the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care to develop policies and processes for the implementation of the My Health Record system. I went on to transition the system over to the Australian Digital Health Agency (role above). Today, the innovative technology solution continues to provide consumers and healthcare providers with safe and secure access to key health information at any time, including in an emergency.
