I never set out to be a teacher, but I couldn’t help becoming one. Every job I ever had kept directing me toward education. I should have known the path I was on when my first job out of college was not in the marketing field I had studied, but teaching yoga instead. I did eventually pursue the career I had prepared for, but each position had a central theme of educating others. I wrote informative newsletter pieces about the merits of buying organic products, organized health education events, and even crafted online courses for dentists.After serving on the executive board of my local PTA, something clicked. Having spent a tremendous amount of time in my children's school, I fell in love with the rich sense of purpose, and the opportunity to make a contribution to my community. I eventually decided to combine my talents and my personal interests to pursue a career in education. Since then, I have worked with hundreds of high school students, teaching them Economics and Personal Finance, and helping them become financially literate adults. It has truly been a rewarding journey.
