About Jennifer Williams

I am a Research Amplification Lead for UL's Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). In this role, I support the FSRI team and partner to amplify reach and engage with key stakeholders to increase firefighter knowledge and reduce injuries and deaths in the fire service and the communities they serve. I have been a member of the fire service since 2006 with most of my service at the Lewes Fire Department in Lewes, Delaware as a volunteer firefighter/EMT. I received an Associate's Degree in Fire Science/Emergency Management: Arson Investigation from Montgomery College and am currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing through the University of Maryland Global Campus. Before joining FSRI, I worked as the Public Relations Specialist for the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, University of Maryland and have worked on numerous safety initiatives over the years. As part of the FSRI team, I also spread research-based public fire safety education resources and help stakeholders integrate messaging into their community outreach efforts.Outside of my "day job" I am also the President of Dressed in Love Ministries Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit ministry that provides free prom and homecoming dresses to girls in need. I enjoy working with teens in the community and also serve as a Community Bridges Inc. Mentor.

  • Dressed In Love Ministries Inc.
    President And Founder
Dressed In Love Ministries Inc. Jan 2015 - Present
    Laurel, Maryland
Dressed in Love Ministries Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit that provides dresses, accessories, hair, makeup and nail painting to girls going to their prom who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to go. Although inner beauty triumphs physical adornment, every girl enjoys being pampered once in a while. Prom is a night where every girl going will be dolled up and usually for a huge cost. By providing these services for free, our mission is to show the humble love of Christ to girls who may not be able to afford the dress or the salon. This is also an opportunity to get to know local girls and encourage them by reminding them of their inner beauty and that they are loved as they are.More than just a prom ministry, but a movement to encourage and equip young women to become who they were made to be. This ministry began in 2015 by asking for a few friends to donate dresses to help a handful of local girls. The idea took off and God has taken it to a new level of impact. “So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.” – Colossians 3:14
