I design, implement, and assess a developmentally-appropriate health and physical education program for just over 500 children in grades PK-5. Over the years I've also organized and run various after school activities promoting physical activity, including Cardio Kidz (aerobic exercise options) for 11 years, Speed Stackers (cup stacking) for 12 years, and All-Star Jumpers (tryout-only jump rope performance team) for eight years. In addition to teaching I also serve on the school's Crisis Response and Leadership Teams and actively assist with many school activities and performances.

Planned and lead meetings with all the elementary HPE teachers in the county, liaised between the HPE teachers and central office administrators, visited and observe the other HPE teachers at least once a year, attended state HPE coordinator meetings, and kept the HPE/Science Coordinator abreast of current policies, trends, etc. in the HPE field.

The Advisory Council is comprised of health and physical education teachers and administrators from around Northern Virginia who meet with the Physical Education Teacher Education faculty at GMU once or twice a year. The PETE faculty solicit our input on a variety of topics concerning the growth and direction of the PETE program at GMU. It is also an opportunity for we teachers to discuss various matters related to teaching in general as well as in our respective schools and school systems.

Kidz All-Star Camp offers a fun-filled camp experience for students in grades K-6, emphasizing healthy living through physical activity and organic or all-natural foods. We foster character building and creativity in a safe and friendly environment. Activities are developmentally appropriate and include but are not limited to team sports, fitness activities, cooperative activities, dance, character building themes, and nutrition-based activities.
