To this end, I have spent my education and career at the intersection of health sciences and technology with the goal of creating knowledge and designing solutions to real-world problems.In the sphere of health sciences, I have experience in biophysics, physiology, neuroscience, and clinical research and have published over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts. On the technology side, I have expertise in bioinformatics and computational methods, as well as significant experience in software architecture and engineering, having developed production software solutions for businesses and clinical organizations.My mission is to create data-driven products that will change how we make decisions and I am passionate about using data science and software solutions to drive change in healthcare.

Graduate Student - Phd In NeuroscienceUniversity Of Calgary May 2008 - Apr 2013Calgary, Alberta, CaMy graduate work in computational neuroscience focused on information processing in principal neurons of the cerebellum. I used a combination of in vitro electrophysiology and mathematical modeling to determine how different ion channel complexes contribute to the signal processing ability of neurons that primarily receive either inhibitory or excitatory inputs. The highlight of my research was the unexpected discovery of KCa3.1 channels in central neurons, which had previously never been seen. Furthermore, I demonstrated that KCa3.1 channels complex with Cav3 channels to provide subthreshold filtering abilities to cerebellar Purkinje cells. -
