Responsible for the day-to-day management of the library and its staff. Worked closely with the library’s board of trustees, committees, and the Friends of the Library; promoted the library to the community at events and through a newspaper column, an e-newsletter, and speaking engagements; fostered community partnerships and collaboration; sought, wrote, and administered grants; recommended and implemented board-approved policy; planned and implemented innovative programs and services, with a focus on user experience and reduction of barriers; also responsible for collection development (nonfiction).

Conducted research to support the continuous improvement and evolution of programs, services, and operations; identified and pursued grants in alignment with the library’s mission and budget priorities; researched, recommended, planned for and implemented new types of library services and technologies; evaluated the effectiveness of library services in relation to changing needs of users; staffed reference desks and other service points as needed; supervised volunteer, clerical, paraprofessional personnel as required. Also responsible for collection development: Music and Movies.

Researched, planned, created marketing materials for and promoted continuing education workshops for librarians across four counties; organized special interest groups and ad hoc committees to facilitate collaboration between libraries of different types; maintained organization’s website; assisted in annual conference programming and planning; facilitated office move; acted as liaison to the nominating committee for CLRC’s board.

Released vinyl, CD and digital format albums. Maintained web presence for all bands and coordinated marketing efforts for new releases.

Belfer Audio Archive & Bird Library: Processed and cataloged 78s and LPs according to RDA standards in MARC format. Wrote articles published in InfoSpace and Syracuse University Magazine to help promote the Belfer.University Archive: Processed small collections; wrote biographies and historical notes; created EAD finding aids; retrieved and filed materials.School of Information Studies: Wrote and edited grant proposals, papers, conducted literature reviews, and otherwise provided direct faculty support to Dr. Yun Huang in the SALT lab (research topics included human computer interaction, community as collection, social media, systems design in research, etc.).

Developed and managed team of 10+ weekly and monthly volunteers and community service workers; accepted/rejected donated materials according to library policy and advised on policy; organized and maintained basement collection of 30,000+ donated materials; created documentation for book sale procedures; collaborated with marketing team to promote book sales; recommended and implemented creative solutions for book sale improvement; completed sale prep and ran sale events with 300+ attendees; managed ongoing book sales in addition to the larger bi-monthly sales.

Managed teams of 3-10 employees. Trained new employees on client-specific standards. Created taxonomy and attribute models for e-commerce clients; defined required attributes and faceted attributes; made web display recommendations; developed and maintained client relationships and feedback/deliverable cycle; wrote posts for blog and social media. Updated website weekly, wrote nightlife column and arts & entertainment pieces, maintained and updated calendar online and in print, sent weekly e-newsletters.

Reviewed title documents for accuracy, completeness and consistency. Input client data into database and tracked daily activity on all accounts. Daily communication via phone, fax and email with searchers in all New York State counties and with clients.
