Responsibilities include providing insurance and benefits verification, seeking and verifying authorizations for transplant-related services. As needed, manage work queues and workflow in preparation for ICV, Eval, MRB (listing). Possess a strong understanding of commercial, federal, state, and third-party payors and efficiently processes requests. Work closely with Transplant Coordinators and relays information promptly. I support overall Transplant Financial services at the direction of the department leadership team. Assists with preparing Financial Review Profiles for determination of patient financial capability; refer potential Medicaid or County patients to eligibility for Medicaid application and approval; monitor all in-house accounts for possible financial issues; Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Memorial Regional Hospital.

Schedule patient admission/services through physicians' offices or the Emergency Room. Verify the precertification/ authorization has been obtained before the admission/service and enter this information into the computer system. Arrange for pre-admission testing as necessary. I also functioned as Charge Representative and provided team leadership in the absence of the Supervisor and Manager. Nourished and maintained a relationship with clinical departments to allow for clear communication. Provided training and functioned as Registration Team Lead for over five years.

Demonstrate service excellence and positive interpersonal skills in dealing with others to maximize communication and productivity. Interview patients/ relatives to obtain accurate registration information. Verify patient’s eligibility and benefits with insurance agencies.When applicable, examine patient insurance coverage, deductibles, possible insurance carrier payments, and remaining balances not covered under their policies. Notify/ collect patient co-pays or deductibles. Update patient financial information to guarantee accuracy.
