•- Worked on a team which writes and maintains a Ruby on Rails based application for managing offers and coupons in the PayPal mobile app and shop website as well as advertisements-• Increased reliability by rewriting part of the application to synchronize with an external service after responding to a user's request and to retry later if the synchronization fails.-• Addressed security issues within the application and introduced the usage of brakeman, a static code analysis tool, to our team's definition of done to help find potential issues before code review.Additional Initiatives:•- Presented a tech talk about Rabbit MQ with an in depth overview of topic exchanges.-• Set up and configured a continuous integration server which runs tests on every pull request and appropriately modifies tickets in progress according to our code review flow. I also set up jobs for performing deployments, creating releases, automatically testing service integration and performing security audits.-• Turned around a project to move my team's application to an OpsCode Chef based infrastructure pipeline.
