Chosen as a student advisor to the Illinois Rural Education Advisory Council. The goal of the council is to bring in rural voices and perspectives to create a proposal that will adequately address the needs that Illinois rural schools face.

Selected as one of the 100 high achieving Juniors across the nation to be a LEDA scholar to attend a rigorous 5 week Summer Institute at Princeton University.

• Serving a two-year term on the council to represent the voices of the 1.9 million Illinois students that are enrolled within the Illinois school system.
• Presented recommendations on specific topics to the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Work together with other students to discuss and create viable solutions to some of the most pressing issues that Illinois students face.

• Oversaw sub-groups with other executive council members to manage recommendations and research.
• Scheduled meetings and worked with eight other executive council members to organize events for the council as a whole.
