Though I arrived at it unconventionally -- with a BSc in Microbiology & Immunology and an early career in communications -- I found my calling nearly 25 years ago when I interviewed at an international healthcare development organization. In those early days, empowering patients and healthcare providers through education and capacity building gave purpose to all the 8AM Biochemistry classes and hours spent waiting on the results of a lab experiment. Today, having led teams to deliver life-changing programs and services, promote research, advocate on behalf of underserved and marginalized communities, raise crucial funds and engage stakeholders, I have a more well-rounded perspective but remain as committed as ever to improving patient outcomes and promoting health equity. I am passionate about helping nonprofits clarify their intended impact and aligning strategies, teams, processes and resources to help them achieve it.
