I currently work as an Organ Donation Specialist and Hospital Development Coordinator for BC Transplant. I graduated with my Bachelors of Nursing from Athabasca University at Mount Royal College in April 2008 and specialized in critical care. I recently graduated with my Masters of Nursing with a teaching focus through Athabasca University. As an experienced critical care nurse and donation coordinator, I have strong communication skills, excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and am able to manage numerous concurrent tasks while working in a high stress environment. I am able to work independently and/or collaboratively within an inter-professional team environment. I have ample experience focusing on patient and family centered care and have excellent time management skills. I am hardworking with a positive attitude and highly motivated while showing compassion. Through my clinical teaching, and multidisciplinary education I provide around organ donation, I have gained a knowledge of adult education principles and methods and incorporate this into my role. As a charge nurse and leader within the ICU, I have pride in my approachable and respectful attitude. I am proficient with computer literacy programs such as word, excel, google docs, SCM, iTransplant and Metavision.
