I currently work as a LSA in a specialist autism school, I also work at the onsite boarding house in the mornings and when needed evenings and weekends. There is a variety of different young people some being non verbal so the use of visual symbols are used across the school. I utilise traditional and non-traditional teaching methods to ensure the education of these students in both one-to-one and full class settings. I feel that I am able to patiently accommodate the needs of the students I have the pleasure of working with. In this role I frequently surpassed what is expected of me, leading, planning and teaching classes when teachers have been absent for consecutive lessons. Other aspects of my role included creating and managing the term timetable. I also regard myself as being an incredibly proactive member of staff. I worked engaging young people in a broad curriculum of different courses, I had set up for people that struggle with behaviour, attendance and engagement in Education. I set up the students with work placements and worked close with the families and the schools to provide the best education for each student. I also taught PSHE and Hair and Beauty every week.

I worked in supported living, helping people out in the community and learning life skills. I was also a key worker for one of the tenants to help make care plans, risk assessments and to promote independence.
