As a writer and editor with over seventeen years of experience in design, communications, content development, publication, and education, I believe in the power of telling a good story. I love shaping dynamic narratives, and some of my greatest professional joys have come from collaborating with writers to polish their work and take it to the next level.My expertise is rooted in a commitment to vibrant collaboration and a sharp eye for detail and precision. I have an MFA in Writing and an extensive background in visual arts, and with more than a decade of experience in higher education, I infuse my work depth, accuracy, and style. From developing complex communication campaigns in my role as the Associate Director of Admissions at Maine College of Art & Design to cofounding an independent art journal and serving as its managing editor and director for the duration of its publication, I work diligently to nurture community and belonging through writing and design. It's important to me that writing and design can connect with people on both intellectual and emotional levels—that we're reminded of our shared humanity.My arts writing and reviews have appeared in arts publications, artist monographs, and exhibition catalogs. I've edited both fiction and nonfiction, essays and books. I recently relocated to Washington, DC, where I am revising an essay collection of my own and drafting a novel.

Managing Editor, The RecordIndigo Arts Alliance Aug 2024 - PresentTHE RECORD is a digital text-based archive that documents the creative process, thinking, and continued practices of the artists who participate in Indigo Arts Alliance's Artist Residency programs. This archive project was designed to provide a permanent, educational record that connects the systems change work happening at Indigo Arts Alliance. The Record pairs an established Black arts writer with an alumni from the IAA Artist Residency program. It is a repository that looks back to previous local and global artists in residence to contextualize their work and practice since their time in residence at Indigo, creating space for a process of reflection and analysis of their work.+ Monitor, organize, and oversee the development of IAA's artist archive, The Record+ Commission writers to produce profiles, reflections, and arts writing (in consideration with artists' recommendations)+ Write contracts, manage deadlines, and follow up with artists and writers+ Edit articles and provide feedback to writers+ Work with IAA communications team to identity visual assets for website and social mediaWith IAA Co-Founder Marcia Minter, I helped launch The Record in 2020, commissioning essays and editing work with writers until the winter of 2022 when I was fully in the swing of graduate school. I'm very happy to be back working with the incredible staff, artists, and volunteers at IAA!
