I am one of the social workers/ counsellors in Hamilton who attend forensic medicals to support sexual assault victims. I work on a roster, alongside a team of doctors and nurses, who also specialise in this area. Alongside crisis support, I undertake safety assessments and liase with third parties such as police, whanau etc, while the victim remains at the centre of my concern and efforts.
