    I worked in the laboratories of Drs. David Traver and Karl Willert studying the development of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in the zebrafish and human embryonic stem cell (hESC) systems. I focused specifically on the role of Wnt signaling in HSC specification and emergence in both the zebrafish model of in vivo hematopoiesis, and used my findings to improve efforts to derive HSCs from hESCs.
