Simultaneous to the process of building clarity about the organization’s broader direction, members of the leadership and executive teams engaged in ideation sessions and conversations to first identify, and then wrestle with, critical questions about organizational design and behavior. / / Facilitated a yearlong series of Diversity and Inclusion conversations and workshops for the team of 12 designers, strategists, project managers and developers at Hyperakt Design Studio. / / Developed the structure, including support documents and training materials, for DREAM Charter School’s educator evaluation system. Facilitated a series of work sessions with both the leadership and teaching teams to identify the elements of highest value to the community, and then to refine the tools created. Served as a thought partner to the principal on a range of high stakes decisions involving hiring, definition of positions, teacher evaluation and support. / / Worked with Hyperakt Design Studio to develop a new visual vocabulary that reflects the multidimensional role of the teacher to present on WNYC’s Studio 360 website and radio show. Plan, implement and deliver critical education reform projects in partnership with state education agencies, school districts, philanthropic organizations and other partners. / / Led the network component on a statewide initiative funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to build a networked improvement community with four Florida school districts working to overcome the challenges of implementing new state standards. Built community, designed and facilitated learning experiences… Show more Plan, implement and deliver critical education reform projects in partnership with state education agencies, school districts, philanthropic organizations and other partners. / / Led the network component on a statewide initiative funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to build a networked improvement community with four Florida school districts working to overcome the challenges of implementing new state standards. Built community, designed and facilitated learning experiences for districts’ executive leadership teams. Completed the project in July 2018, within the two-year timeframe and $5M budget. / / Facilitated a two-day retreat for the Annie E. Case Foundation’s Center for Civics and Community Change leadership team intended to deepen relationships across the team, reflect on their current state of work, ideate on high level strategy shifts and prioritize action steps to prepare for a foundation-wide launch of a new strategic plan. / / Partnered with the Center for Education Leadership to pilot their Gates-funded Principal Support Framework in Tulsa Public Schools. Engaged Tulsa’s leadership team, principal supervisors and principals in a diagnostic process to reflect on the extent to which the central office has established a culture that enables principals to serve as instructional leaders. Developed recommendations, an implementation strategy and performance management plan. Completed the project in March 2016. / / Led project for Washington DC’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education to establish approach for incorporating the Student Learning Objective (SLO) process as a component in educator evaluation. Facilitated monthly LEA sessions over three years to engage school leaders in developing the state’s approach, guiding LEA and OSSE leadership through the collaborative development of a unique teacher observation rubric, feedback structures and SLO guidelines. Led 32 corps members and 5 staff. Monitored key factors at school site to ensure student achievement and corps members’ development. Ensured strong school operations. Partnered with principal and trained summer mentor teachers. Created a culture of excellence and a welcoming environment for corps members and staff of all backgrounds to productively engage on topics of diversity, community and achievement. Fostered a sense of partnership, trust and respect among all staff and corps members.

Designed and implemented professional development for a staff of 22. Designed and managed a teacher observation system, coaching both first year and experienced teaching staff and providing results driven feedback with prescriptive plans for growth in delivery of instruction and classroom management. Assisted the principal in the assessment of the performance of the teaching staff.

Created core English Language Arts curriculum for 5th – 8th grades. Designed and delivered standards-based ELA instruction to 5th and 6th graders. Participated in the school design and in the development of the administrative structure of the school, including scheduling, programming and school culture, the recruitment and hiring process and the development of school – wide initiatives.

Instructed students and generated classroom practices to foster independence, promote higher order thinking skills and improve student achievement. Conducted meetings regularly with parents and guardians to foster positive home – school relationship. Provided turnkey training to colleagues on the Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop models.
