Set up laboratory's new High Performance Anion Exchange Chromatography with Pulsed Amperometric Detection including standardizing operating procedures, sample preparation techniques, and associated logistics before instrumentation was operable for laboratory and field samples. Completed >300 hours of lab work in 4 weeks associated with coagulation efficiency time series experiments for the DFG funded project AQUASHIFT, investigating the effects of temperature on components of the oceans' biological pump. Laboratory experience in: couette flow chamber incubations, time series experiments, HPAEC-PAD for sugar analysis, sample filtration, microscopy, cell staining, cell counting, Image J analysis, colorimetric techniques, molecular weight separation, ultrafiltration, Coulter Counter Multisizer measurements, diatom and coccolithophorid cell culturing, and Flow Cytometry sample preparation. Assisted with high school intern research experience and HIWI student thesis review.
