Empathy and a deep curiosity about human nature have always kept humans at the heart of my 'why.' Who are we beneath our layers? Why do we do what we do? How can we understand one another better? I used to question how empathy could find its place in the business world, shaped by prevailing patriarchal norms. I’ve since come to embrace it as my #1 strength, enabling me to: 1. Build meaningful, trust-based relationships2. Develop user-centric marketing strategies3. Lead a team grounded in psychological safetyLooking back on my journey, my academic background in International Relations & Commerce initially led me to work at several international NGOs. While rewarding, the emotional demands of human rights advocacy eventually led to burnout. Transitioning to the Canadian entrepreneurial ecosystem, I’ve worn many hats over the past 3+ years at Venture for Canada—communications, customer success, program design, partnerships, sales, and marketing. Each role has broadened my skills and deepened my understanding of diverse perspectives, goals and working styles.Today, I lead our Marketing & Partnerships department, reporting to the CEO and managing an ambitious, authentic, data-driven team of four across social, digital, content, email, and partnership channels. While I’m no longer advocating for humans rights on the frontline, I continue to champion human rights in my work by advocating for the user, empowering students and entrepreneurs, and ensuring all team members feel safe, seen, and heard.—Outside of work, I’m always looking for what I like to call 'PJMs'—pure joy moments. I love discovering what brings others joy and enjoy chats about solo travel, culture, personal development, and spirituality. You can often find me trying new coffees, wines, or cheeses, and spending time by the ocean–swimming, kayaking, or learning to surf.🎯 2024 Accomplishments: 1.
