Since joining the the public service of Canada, I have worked with communications teams at:- Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Vancouver BC- Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Pacific Region and Maritimes Regions- Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Western Region and Eastern RegionIn addition to managing media relations on behalf of government departments/sectors, I have also worked on key branding initiatives such as the TV show Border Security: Canada's Front Line, while at CBSA. I became part of IRCC's communication team at the height of the Syrian refugee crisis. I was part of the media relations team, helping reporters and thus Canadians get important information about key immigration initiatives. I coordinated events and announcements on behalf of our Minister.I have worked also with both the policy and the communication teams at Fisheries and Oceans, on the Atlantic and the Pacific regions. One of my key projects was to guide the work of the department to ensures we met or exceeded our obligations under the Official Languages Act.

While with Communications Nova Scotia (CNS), I was hired to work with the Senior Advisor for the Office des Affaires Acadiennes (Acadian-francophone affairs), to develop an internal promotional campaign as new legislation on the use of the French-language came into effect. The best part of this job besides seeing the successful results of our marketing efforts, was working with an engaged cross-sectoral committee comprised of department and agency heads who were championing the initiatives. Once that was well underway, I completed a 2-year interchange with the (Federal) Department of Fisheries and Oceans as the Manager of Internal Communications and Publishing, before returning to CNS to join the amazing team at Agriculture and with Fisheries and Aquaculture.
