I am in the middle of a major life transition. I sold my the renewable energy company I ran for nearly 20 years and I'm now transitioning back in to the legal world where I started my career. I am passionate about helping small businesses become more efficient, and I believe small to medium sized law firms are going to be looking for help in transitioning to AI in a way that protects client confidentiality, accuracy of work product and ensuring AI output is free from bias. The legal field is notoriously conservative and can be resistant to change. Jennifer co-founded New Leaf Biofuel in 2006 and has led the company over 18 years to being recognized nationally as a major player in the biodiesel space. Jennifer served as the Chair of the California Advanced Biofuels Alliance and also served on the National Biodiesel Board where she has held various officer and committee positions over the years. Jennifer is recognized by her peers as a leader and spokesperson for community sized biodiesel plants across the country, and has testified on their behalf in the US House of Representatives’ Energy and Commerce Committee and the Environmental Protection Agency. She has also previously served on the boards of the San Diego Regional Clean Cities Coalition and the San Diego chapter of the California Restaurant Association. Jennifer wrote several successful competitive grants during her tenure including three for biodiesel production and one for renewable fuel infrastructure. During her last year, she successfully commissioned a 7 million dollar renewable fuel terminal for storage and distribution of ethanol, biodiesel & renewable diesel. Jennifer has raised over 6 million dollars for the Company through various grants to the California Energy Commission and Air Resources Board. Drawing on her experience in the legal field, Jennifer coordinated with each of the City and County agencies to ensure compliance with all land use and environmental regulations. When she is not working on strategy with her management team, she is in Sacramento or Washington DC advocating for policy that will strengthen the renewable fuels industry and combat climate change.
