Helped residents with ADLs, took vital signs, worked with lifts.

I was hired as a C.N.A. at this facility and my main priorities were to help the residents with their ADLs and to make sure that they were well taken care of. I also had a chore to do every night. Such as, passing linens, refilling ice waters, passing out dinner trays, taking residents vital signs and cleaning up the dining area after every meal on shift. I always made sure to clean up in the residents rooms after all care was done. I have worked with catheters, wound vacs, colostomy and urostomy bags. I have transported the residents to and from places (activities, rehab, hair salon, and meals).

I wasn't allowed to be hands on with the residents, but i was allowed to assist them to meals and back. I passed out linens, ice waters and cleaned up their rooms. I also helped in activities. The best part about this job was that I was allowed to be there for them as a companion while the other staff were busy or just whenever they needed emotional comfort.
