About Jennifer Devlin
I am a passionate cancer research scientist with research interests centred around understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating cancer cell transcriptional programs, disease pathology and responses to novel therapeutic strategies. My current research at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre focuses on investigating the transcriptional roles of cyclin-dependent-kinases (CDKs) in normal and cancer cells.I have a strong background in laboratory research, with over 5 years post-doctoral experience. I am capable of working independently and as part of a team. I have a strong background for the design and execution of highly technical experiments, which have contributed to multiple research publications in high impact journals. I have gained valuable experience in project management including management of ethical research with scientific animals. I have technical expertise in a wide range of laboratory research techniques and have formed collaborations with researchers across a spectrum of cancer and biological research disciplines. I have presented my research in institutional, local and international forums and am an active member of the research community, participating in institutional committees and supervising undergraduate research students. I completed my PhD studies at the University of Melbourne's Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, undertaking my doctoral training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia (2011 - 2015). This research, which was generously funded by the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia, concentrated on understanding how critical processes for cell growth (ribosome biogenesis, protein translation and the oncogenic signalling pathways that regulate them) are dysregulated in B-cell lymphoma and other cancers as well as identifying new therapeutic strategies for treating MYC-driven malignancies. My recent research at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland focuses on discovering novel insights about lung cancer biology that may be used to predict therapeutic approaches for patients.
Listed skills include Molecular Biology, Cell Culture, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, and 12 others.

Postdoctoral Researcher
Post Doctoral Researcher - Lung Cancer Model Systems groupMy research focused on finding novel insights about non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) biology that will contribute to understanding heterogeneity in NSCLC (why are there profound differences between different NSCLC patients and how they respond to therapy) with the aim to increase knowledge about.
Postdoctoral Researcher
Post-Doctoral Researcher in Oncogenic Signalling and Growth Control Program. Investigation of novel therapeutic strategies to treat blood cancers, predominantly B-cell lymphoma. Presentation and dissemination of research findings and managment of ethics projects.
Graduate Student
Post-graduate research student (via University of Melbourne) - my project investigated the important role of a key oncogenic signalling pathway for key growth processes in cancer cells and how to potentially therapeutically target this growth network to treat B-cell lymphoma.
Honours Research Student
Undergraduate Honours Research student affiliated with the University of Melbourne, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Completion of research project thesis and advanced coursework.
