• Creates and coordinates patient schedules both at St. Jude and for external visits ordered to ensure the patient has the best experience possible while at the same time maximizing hospital resources. • Fluently schedules in four different clinics including Surgery, frequently helping out in several other clinics.• Has a solid understanding of scheduling tests and procedures and what is required when these are ordered.• Performs daily audits to ensure accuracy for both the success of the hospital and for the safety/well-being of the patients.• Regularly speaks with patients/patients’ families, other staff members, and outside clinics on the phone to help in any needs they may have while maintaining a professional but caring image.• Proficient in scheduling both in Cerner and in Epic.• Mentors new hires and other coworkers to help them be successful in their own jobs.• Work diligently with my colleagues, both within the scheduling department and those who are in other clinics, to find solutions that maximize our resources and give us the ability to take care of as many patients as we can in a given time period.• Represent the scheduling department by attending weekly or monthly huddles.• Help create Standards of Practice both within the Scheduling Department and at the hospital as a whole.

• Manage patient accounts working in multiple electronic programs along with paper tickets for the largest cardiology group in the midsouth.• Work daily with up to 100 doctors and nurse practitioners to ensure patients are billed out correctly for our practice to get maximum payment and to ensure patients are not responsible for payments insurances would otherwise deny.• Average daily input of $120,000.• Work daily within my own team and with an entire business office.• Train new employees/new to my department coworkers.• Work as a liaison between doctors and staff to answer any questions or concerns for billing.
