Manages the outreach and sales efforts for NYSERDA’s Demand Management Program (DMP). The $285 Million DMP program is a joint NYSERDA/Con Edison partnership focused on commercial and industrial energy efficiency and demand reduction in Con Edison territory. DMP provides increased amounts of funding as well as technical support for energy improvements that reduce system-coincident peak demand. Manages a portfolio of projects for the Demand Management Program and the Existing Facilities Program. Provides support to and is the primary point of contact for several of NYSERDA’s largest customers.

Created a marketing and outreach program for the newly established Energy and Water Conservation team. Developed a communications plan, the Georgia Tech Energy Conservation website, news articles, promotional and educational materials, white papers, and utility briefings. Garnered support for an Institute level energy policy. Represented Georgia Tech at major sustainability conferences and presented at the U.S. Green Building Council’s High Performance, Healthy Schools Summit. Developed partnerships and joint projects between the Energy Conservation team and other Administrative and Finance business units. Responsible for all sustainability communications and outreach efforts with students, staff, faculty, and the greater Atlanta community. Also served on the executive committee for the Georgia Tech Earth Day event and the Smart Grid/Campus research team.

Served on the Vehicle Technologies Program’s communication, education, and outreach team. Created briefing books for upper management, wrote press releases, and developed presentations. Served as the office’s Web Coordinator, Technology Advancement and Outreach Liaison, and Workforce Development Liaison. Worked with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) to develop and produce a joint DOE/EPA/DOT 2009 Washington Auto Show Exhibit. Served as a reviewer for several Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOA) including: Recovery Act - Transportation Electrification, Recovery Act - Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants - Formula Grants, and the Clean Cities FY09 Petroleum Reduction Technologies Projects for the Transportation Sector.

Served as a congressional correspondent and advisor to the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) controlled correspondence office. Composed and edited executive correspondence. Responded to members of Congress, Principles from other government agencies, Governors, Mayors, and the general public. Resolved issues encountered by the writing team, EERE program offices, the process team, Deputy Assistant Secretaries, and the Executive Secretariat. Experience working with all EERE program offices (specifically the Chief Information Office), the DOE Executive Secretariat, and others to develop a plan to improve the controlled correspondence process and software. Knowledge of key policy issues for the Department of Energy.

Served as the Deputy Associate Director for Energy Efficiency for the Council on Environmental Quality’s Communities, Environmental Protection & Green Jobs team. Led and managed the Recovery Through Retrofit interagency working group tasked by Vice President Biden and the Middle Class Task Force to lay the foundation for a self-sustaining home energy efficiency retrofit industry. Coordinated federal government collaboration in order to successfully implement the recommendations set forth in the Recovery Through Retrofit report by September 30, 2011. Facilitated stakeholder outreach meetings and reported regularly to the office of the Vice President on implementation progress. Provided weekly updates to CEQ’s Chair on the working group’s progress and briefed the Chair on current energy issues as they arose. Reviewed pending legislation, congressional testimony, and questions for the record through the Legislative Referral Memorandum process.

Editor for renewable fuels publications, issue papers, policy briefs, and Bridges Trade BioRes, a news publication geared toward bridging the gap between the environmental and trade communities. Uploaded new articles and scientific reports to ICTSD’s website.
