National Ocean Service measures, creates, and produces geodetic information, hydrographic surveys, and nautical charts. I was a geodetic liaison for National Geodetic Survey in Alaska and a hydrographer on two NOAA ships working Alaska and Pacific Northwest coastlines. • Assisted with aeronautical surveys in support of airport obstruction charts. • Planned, tracked, and organized hydrographic charting projects as Field Operations Officer. • Collected and interpreted hydrographic data to compile up-to-date nautical charts. • Provided supervision to nine junior officers and ten survey technicians on nearly 40 surveys. • Directly responsible for five surveys in poorly charted areas of Alaska. • Investigated current statewide initiatives to upgrade current geodetic networks to national standards. • Conducted pre-season calibration efforts for ship and small boat survey systems.

USGS surveys and maps topographic and thematic data for analog and digital distribution. I worked as a cartographer in all phases of topographic map production and distribution. Later, I transferred to the Earth Science Information Center (ESIC), where I helped internal and external customers research maps, digital data, aerial photography, and digital imagery. • Successfully completed in-house cartographer development program that developed skills used in all areas of map production. • Produced analog and digital photogrammetric-accurate map layers.• Evaluated products against USGS map standards at various stages of production.• Performed fieldwork to support topographic map production which included horizontal and vertical control procedures, ground-truthing and aerial photographic interpretation. • Delivered numerous presentations and conducted in-house tours on mapping topics to diverse audiences.
