As the Assistant Director of UC Irvine's LIFTED Program, I'm passionate about breaking down barriers to education and empowering incarcerated individuals. This groundbreaking program, the first of its kind in the UC system, offers bachelor's degrees to students behind bars.My journey began as a Program Coordinator, and I've since been instrumental in expanding access to essential resources. I've successfully implemented access to in-person tutoring, disability support services, and a peer support network that connects students with justice-impacted mentors.Drawing on my personal experiences as a formerly incarcerated student and my academic background in Political Science and Criminology, Law, & Society, I'm committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
